Ephesians 6:21-24 @ 930

This is a recording of the Christ Church service on Sunday 24th November at 9:30am when we continued our series on Ephesians with chapter 6 verses 21 to 24.

Questions on Ephesians 6:21-24

Tychicus appears in other parts of the New Testament (Acts 20:3-5; 2 Timothy 4:9-15; Titus 38-14; Colossians 4:7-8). Looking at these passages, what sort of personal qualities do you think Tychicus had?

Paul has told the church at Ephesus that they need to be prepared with the "armour of God" for the spiritual battle ahead. How do you think the Ephesians felt when they discovered that Paul was going to send Tychicus to them?

In sending Tychicus, Paul assumes that the church in Ephesus will be interested in how Paul's ministry of spreading the gospel of Christ Jesus is going. Is this your top priority in Cove?

If you had to explain Ephesians 6:24 – the very last verse of Ephesians – to somebody else, what are some of the things you would say?

Paul sent Tychicus to encourage the Ephesians because Tychicus was reliable, discreet, an encourager, and didn't fall away when the gospel ministry got tough. Do you think Paul would have sent you?

Paul travelled with companions like Tychicus and shared in gospel ministry with them and helped to mentor and develop them in their calling and gifting... in the areas in which you are serving who can you bring alongside you to mentor, invest in and share in a gospel partnership?

Family fun: it was Tychicus' job to bring news to Ephesus of what Paul and his team were up to. Try to tell one member of your family something about what another member was doing over the last few days. Did you get it right?
