Welcome to Christ Church, St Christopher's and Southwood Churches!
On Sunday 7th April 2019 St Christopher’s unified with the congregation from Southwood, to form a new church. Then on Sunday 19th May the new church name was announced by Archdeacon Paul Davies as Christ Church. This is a very exciting time of change for the parish and will enable us to better serve the 21,000+ people who live in Cove. Currently we have two services on a Sunday morning: a 9am more traditional service usually with communion, and a 10:30am more contemporary band-led service which also offers Sunday School work for 3-11s. Our monthly Ignite band-led service is also held at St Christopher’s & Southwood church at 6:30pm.
We also have a communion service on Wednesday mornings at 10am. There are a number of different small groups and events that make up the fabric of life at Christ Church, from our weekly housegroups to our popular baby and our toddler group “Sunbeams” to our monthly Messy Church and Farnborough Foodbank, which is hosted by the church three days a week.
More about us
New Church Name Announcement
Here is Archdeacon Paul Davies announcing the new name:
We are busy building a new website for the whole parish which will have new branding, more content and help attract people to join the life of the parish at St John's or Christ Church. As we are building the new website this site won't have as much attention in the short term -- Sorry. Our new website will be launched in September.
Service Time Changes
Following a period of review and prayer after the churches unified on Sunday 7th April 2019, some further changes are being made to the service times from 21st July onwards.
Gemma and Steve explain more in this video:
As mentioned in the video above, on Sunday 22nd September 2019 at 6.30pm we will be holding a very special service to celebrate the unification, where Bishop Andrew will be joining with us.
