Baptisms at St John’s

Getting your child baptised at St Johns

It is wonderful that you are considering Baptism for your child.  The Baptism service is a time of celebration and it is also a very important step on the journey of faith for you and your child.

At St John’s we seek to walk with you at this very significant time through the following process:

1. Come to church get a feel of St John's Church Family, introduce yourself to the Vicar and confirm that you live in our Parish.

2. Arrange a time with Sheena to come to you and watch Baptism DVD 'First Steps'.  A provisional date for the Baptism Service can be given at this stage, subject to completion of 3 Preparation Sessions.

3. Three Preparation Sessions (Sundays: 12, 19, 26 February or 1, 8, 15 July at 12.15).

4. Baptism Service - Held on the 2nd or 4th Sunday of the month at 12.15 between March and October (No more than 2 families at a time and up to a maximum of 60 guests per family, more if yours is the only baptism)

5. After the Service, please arrange a date to come to the All Together Service at 10am on the first Sunday of the month to be welcomed by the Church Family and to receive your Baptism Candle and Certificates.

I look forward to hearing from you as we seek to take this forward.

Every Blessing,

Esther
