Rev Jeremy Tyndall - Team Rector
Jeremy is the parish team rector and lead minister at St Christopher’s and has cross parish responsibility for the staff team, PCC, standing committee and appointments, assisted by Steve Stewart as Assistant Rector. As lead minister at St Christopher’s, Jeremy serves a talented team of lay and ordained leaders in their various ministries and he also has good links with Tower Hill School and the local Air Cadets. Jeremy’s main theological interest is in the interface between Christianity and Science and he also holds an M.Phil in contextual theology. Jeremy is married to Sue and Dad to Laura, Chris, Amy and Sam who all follow their own careers. In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys music, reading, cycling, model railways, photography and food!
Rev Esther Prior - Vicar, St John’s
Esther was installed as Team Vicar for St John's in March 2011. Esther was previously associate minister at St Matthew’s, Borstal in Kent, and on the chaplaincy team at HMP Cookham Wood. She trained at Trinity College Bristol and served in Bristol and Deptford, and then Bluecoat School at Blackheath. Esther is married to Matt, who is also ordained and currently working on his PhD. They have two children Micah and Sophia.
Rev Steve Stewart - Vicar, Southwood Church
Steve has been Team Vicar of Southwood Church since 2004. He trained as an engineer, then worked in training and procurement, and computer design & project management before being ordained in 1999. Steve and his wife Amanda have 3 children: Shona born in 1999, Tamsin born in 2001 and died in 2008, and Hetty born in 2011. Steve is passionate about proclaiming the Gospel, loves studying theology (hoping to start a PhD in John's gospel soon), leads the worship band at Southwood (guitar and vocals), and still enjoys messing about with computers.
Jacquie Snuggs (Churchwarden, St Christopher’s and Parish Safeguarding Officer)
Jacquie is church warden at St Christopher’s. She is also a worship leader and lay preacher and is the Safeguarding Officer for the parish. In her spare time she likes to be with her family and enjoys reading and visiting the theatre.
Ann Robinson (Churchwarden, St John’s)
Ann is the churchwarden at St John’s Church and also the Prayer Ministry leader. Apart from being kept busy with her duties as Church Warden Ann enjoys time with her many grandchildren and dog walking.
Tony Hawkins (Assistant Churchwarden, Southwood)
Sheena Kenton (Deputy Churchwarden, St John’s)
Sheena is the Deputy Churchwarden at St John’s Church. Her hobbies are walking (she has a large dog), bird watching, gardening and singing. Sheena also loves the beach and likes to swim. She is also kept quite busy with her Grandchildren who all live locally.
Rev Martin James (St Christopher’s)
Martin is a retired priest who has a very active role in leading worship and preaching at St Christopher’s, as well as taking occasional offices in the parish and being involved in a home group and pastoral ministry. Martin is also chairman of a local surgery patient group and is married to Jean with three children and seven grandchildren! In his spare time, Martin enjoys music, films and photography.
Rev Gordon Thomas (St Christopher’s)
Gordon is a retired priest based at St Christopher’s who is actively involved with leading and preaching, leading a home group, pastoral engagement and helping out at Messy Church. Gordon is also the chair of Farnborough Christian Aid Committee and is married to Marion with two children and two grandchildren. In his spare time, Gordon likes reading, listening to music, films, walking, cycling, gardening, current affairs and social issues.
Rev Matt Prior (Assistant Minister, St Johns’)
Matt is an assistant minister at St Johns and married to the Vicar! He works part time for the diocese fostering discipleship. He likes to play cricket in his spare time, but mostly with the kids in the back garden nowadays.
Mary Snell (Director of Music, St Christopher’s)
Mary is the Music Leader at St Christopher’s, Co-ordinating a wide variety of music and singing in Services, week by week, throughout the year. Mary enjoys her work as a piano teacher and has three young grandchildren.
Nicholas Young (Director of Music, St John’s)
As well as being Worship Leader at St John’s Church, Nicholas and his wife Andrea have worked together over the last couple of years on several Musical/Dance productions. They also both sing with the New English Orchestra, an organisation of Christian musicians and singers whose aim is to proclaim the Gospel through music.
David Addison (Ignite Worship Pastor)
David is the worship leader at Ignite and guitarist in the Southwood Church band on a Sunday morning. He is very happily married to Lisa with two beautiful children and is also a professional photographer and videographer, and local under 9's football coach.
Andrew Hyde (Southwood Kid’s Club leader)
Andrew co-runs Southwood Kid’s Club with his wife Joanna and has an active role in Southwood Church with the worship band and all age services.
Joanna Hyde (Smiler’s Baby & Toddler Group, Southwood)
Joanna runs Smiler’s Baby & Toodler group and also co-runs Southwood Kids Club (SKC) with her husband Andrew.
Janet Whitlock (Pastoral Assistant St Christopher’s)
Janet is kept very busy as a Pastoral Assistant, worship leader and occasional preacher at St Christopher’s. Janet is also involved with the bereavement group, Meeting Point, St Christopher’s Church Vision Group, PCC and deanery synod as well as working at the Contact Centre. When Janet isn’t working around the parish, her hobbies are reading, swimming.
Ian Brand (Audio & Visual leader St John’s)
Ian is the Audio and Visual leader at St John’s. He is also a member of the Church Vision Group and has been a member of St John’s since 2009.
Steve Davis (Caretaker & Verger St John’s)
Steve keeps busy with a number of occupations such as Caretaker for the Hall, Vergering, learning support at the 6th Form College, plus a number of commercial roles. When there is any spare time, Steve can often be found sailing on Hawley Lake, a throwback from his days of being a Master Mariner.
Sue Davis (Pastoral Assistant St John’s)
Sue is the Pastoral Assistant at St John’s and spends much of her time caring and offering practical support when needed to our church family. Sue also co-runs “Open Door” a mental health awareness event at St John’s.
